About a few of FBC's Specialized Ministries

Some of the First Baptist's specialized ministries include:

  • Nursery Care – a well-staffed nursery is provided for children, ages birth through PK. Our nursery director, Mrs. Julie Franklin has years of experience as a professional daycare director. If you are unsure of nursery care offered for an event, please call the church office at 728-6272.

About FBC's Senior Adult Ministries

Joymakers – ages 55+; senior adult group that meets for a potluck luncheon in the Fellowship Hall; second Thursday of each month; noon. Trips are offered seasonally and have included Mississippi State University tour, Bollinger Family Dinner Theatre—Bruce, MS; Shaker Village – KY; Singing Christmas Tree—Bellevue Baptist – Memphis, TN; and Andy Griffith Christmas Show – Tupelo, MS.

Bible Study – Various Bible studies groups are available each Sunday during the Sunday School hour – 9:45 – 10:45 a.m.

As part of First Baptist Church's Youth Ministries, a number of our members (as seen in the included photographs) are ministering to God's people in San Diego, California, from May 24 through May 31. About the Music Ministry of Booneville First Baptist

Serve the Lord with gladness: come before His presence with singing!” These words of praise from Psalm 100 serve as a basis for our praise at First Baptist Church, Booneville. It is our desire to express that “He is God” through every aspect of our music ministry. It is our responsibility and privilege to worship the Lord through song.

Dr. Lynn Jones, Pastor

Dr. Lynn Jones has served as Pastor of First Baptist Church, Booneville, since 1995. A native of Plainview, Louisiana, Dr. Jones graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana, and holds the Master of Divinity degree and the Doctor of Philosophy degree in New Testament from Southwestern Seminary in Fort Worth, Texas.

Joey Williford, Minister of Youth

Joey Williford became the Minister of Youth (7-12th grades) of First Baptist Church in 2004. Ordained to the Ministry in 2007 by First Baptist Church, Joey serves as a bi-vocational youth minister with full-time employment at Northeast Mississippi Community College where he serves as the Director of Guidance & Counseling. Joey holds a M. Ed. in Counselor Education from the University of Mississippi with a B.S. in Sociology from Mississippi State University.
