What a great time we had ministering to our special friends at Prentiss Industries in July through Vacation Bible School. From 9:30 - 11:30 a.m. for four days, our youth and some adults taught songs, Bible stories and crafts to adults with disabilities.
Children's Promotion Breakfast is Sunday, August 8th at 9:45 a.m. in our Fellowship Hall for ages 4 years old - 6th grade. There will be an action-packed adventure story with Bible truths entitled "Kickin-It With Keon" along with a great breakfast. Make sure your children join us!
I hear that we’re in for some hot weather this week. Forecasters are predicting that with a high-pressure area settling over us, we might break the 100-degree mark several times. It’s been a hot summer already. In fact, persons who study this sort of thing have concluded that July was our nation’s hottest month on record.
Lately, I have been talking to the animals. They haven’t been talking back, but I’ve been talking to them.
A man was walking down a country road. As he did so, he saw that in the distance the road made a sharp turn to the left. He reasoned that he could cut across the field on the left and save himself a lot of distance and time. As he prepared to climb the fence into the field, he saw a sign in the field that had been posted for persons like him. The sign read: “Do not cross this field unless you can do the 100-yard dash in 10.3 seconds or less. The bull can do it in 10.4.”
Camp Good News 2010 at Chickasaw State Park was LOADS of FUN! 15 campers, 1 counselor, and 1 Bible teacher returned Saturday, July 3 - at 12:45 p.m. - a little late - due to low tire pressure. But God - our Jehovah Jireh - PROVIDED a tire station right near camp, and we got fixed up and ready to go in no time. Good as new!
