Special VBS at Prentiss Industries

Click the images below for bigger versions:

Just one week after helping with Son Rock Kids Camp VBS, nine of our 6th - 10th graders joined Janeil Stutts and Laurie McBride at Prentiss Industries. Each day, June 15th - 19th, from 9:30 - 11:30 a.m., we enjoyed teaching the clients. On Friday, for a special missions' project, over 25 of the clients plus their teachers folded 250 shoe boxes for First Baptist Church's Operation Christmas Child project.

Celebrating Our Independence

This Sunday, July 5, we will have a special Independence Day worship service. At 11:00 AM, the theme of our worship service will focus on offering our gratitude to God for the blessings that are ours in this great country. The music and the message, "Characteristics of Christian Citizenship," will help us celebrate our freedom and face up to our responsibilities as citizens.

Watch Out for the Weeds

Ever since the fall of man, we gardeners have had to do battle with the weeds. After Adam’s sin, God said to him, “Cursed is the ground for your sake; in toil you shall eat of it all the days of your life. Both thorns and thistles it shall bring forth for you.” Before the fall, evidently no thorns or thistles grew, and their double-first cousins, the weeds, were also missing. After the fall, the weeds began proliferating and torturing us gardeners as just reward for our sin. We had it coming, but that still doesn’t make our warfare with the weeds any more pleasant.
